Exploring The Abaco Cays

Located just minutes off the island of Great Abaco are half a dozen smaller cays, each with their own unique settlements, attractions, restaurants and beaches. These offshore islands including Elbow Cay, Guana Cay, Man-O-War Cay, Scotland Cay, Green Turtle Cay and Treasure Cay offer and exciting itinerary of diverse and entertaining activities for any family vacation.

The best way, in fact the only way, to visit and explore these islands is by boat which can be rented on any of the islands including Great Abaco. When planning your boating adventure make sure and provision for a real island experience and include snorkeling gear, fishing rods, a beach umbrella and a hawaiin spear and sling for the more adventurous. Also, don’t forget to stock a cooler of drinks and snacks for your own island hopping extravaganza.

Sites along the way include the Hopetown Lighthouse on Elbow Cay, Man-O-War harbor and New Plymouth settlement on Green Turtle Cay. Stop at Cracker P’s on Lubbers for a real island lunch and feed the pigs on No Name Cay.
